Elizabeth City, NC – October 15, 2015. Affordable Colleges Online has analyzed data from hundreds of colleges across the nation with online degrees in theological and biblical studies at the bachelor's level and ranked Mid-Atlantic Christian University #2 among the top 40 schools.
MACU’s Christian Ministry program gives students an opportunity to expand their religious knowledge without disrupting career advancement, family time, or busy schedules. Although achieving an online degree in theology can be spiritually beneficial and educational, it is not exclusively for those pursuing ministerial training and ordination. Theology degrees give students a deeper understanding of competing world views, faith, philosophy and the sacred scriptures.
Rankings were based upon a proprietary scoring system to score these colleges based upon various cost-to-quality criteria and metrics, or the AC Online Peer-Based Value. This proprietary metric compares qualitative components of colleges with similar costs, against the tuition of colleges with similar quality metrics. The general criteria and scoring metrics include:
- Must be a private or public not-for-profit institution
- Must offer at least one fully online degree program
- Number of online bachelor’s degrees available
- Student-faculty ratio
- Percent of students receiving financial aid
- Academic and career counseling
- 6-year graduation rate
