Guests will stay in the MACU dorms, please bring a sleeping bag or bedding, pillow and towels.

Tickets are $25.00* per person until May 31 and may be purchased online.  Effective June 1 -14 the ticket price will be $40 per person. Tickets will not be available at the door. If your church would like to order in bulk please email Dan Smith to have an invoice created to facilitate payment by check.

Guest Speakers:

Master Chief Butch Flythe USCG (Ret.) 

Butch Flythe retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in November 2007 after 26 years of active duty.  Butch was an Aviation Survival Technician Master Chief and one of the Coast Guards first five Helicopter Rescue Swimmers. He was part of program development and implementation team during the early years of the Helicopter Rescue Swimmer program.  

Butch Held two National Program Manager positions for the Coast Guard: National Helicopter Rescue Swimmer Program Manager and Aviation Life Support Equipment Program Manager.   Prior to his tours as a Program Manager Butch served as Senior Chief in charge of AST/Helicopter Rescue Swimmer “A” School, Chief in charge of Swimmers at USCG Air Station Traverse City, MI and USCG Air Station Kodiak, AK.   He served as a duty standing swimmer and C-130 drop master for over 18 years on the east coast, Great Lakes, and Alaska.  Butch now works as an Underwater Egress Dunker Device Specialist for the U.S. Coast Guard.

Butch was instrumental in the making of the Movie “The Guardian” with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher.  Butch served as technical advisor and supporting actor for the film. 

Butch now worships at Camden United Methodist Church and serves God as the worship leader, youth Sunday school, and Men’s Group coordinator.

Butch was born and raised in Ahoskie, NC.  Butch and his wife of 32 years, Beth reside in Camden, North Carolina.
